The O.D. and W.T. of Rigid PVC shall meet the requirement
of IS-4985:2000 .

| 2.Opacity |
The
wall of the socket portion and the wall of the plain pipe
shall not transmit more than 0.2%

the visible light failing on them.

| 3.Effect
on water |
The
pipes shall not have any determental effect on the composition
of the water flowing through

| |
them.
The concentration (in ppm) of lead,diakyltin, C4 and other
homologues and any other
|
| |
toxic
substances extracted from internal walls of the pipe shall
not exceed as per the
|
| |
requirements
of IS-4985:2000.

| 4.Heat
reversion |
When
tested by hot air oven or immersion bath method at
150±2oC
the sample length shall not
|
| |
alter
by more than 5 percent.
|
| 5.Streses
relief test |
This
test shall be carried out for bell-end pipes only. When
placed in oven for 1 hour at
|
| |
150±2oC,
the teat specimen shall not show blisters, excessive delamination
or cracking or
|
| |
signs
of weld spliting.
|
| 6.Hydrostatic
test |
When
subject to internal hydrostatic pressure calculated as
P=the pipe shall not be trust. after
|
| |
1
hour at 27oC (acceptance test) or 100 kgf/cm
(type test)
|
| 7.Impact
strength |
When
the pipes are tested in accordance with IS-4985-81 after
conditioning at 0±1oC for one
|
| |
hour
, the specimen shall not crack or split.
